It is very exciting for me to get this website going and expanding visibility for this continuing body of work; wood turned bowls. I do the work because I love the process, and it makes me really happy to share it. I’ve had a few friends and clients who seem to really appreciate the work, and I’ve sold or gifted some nice pieces I will show here soon.
I choose to think its about bringing out the beauty of the wood in an appealing way.
So here is the exciting part. I’ve been collecting a lot of wood and I’m so excited to share some of my work in progress. I have 23 bowls drying in the studio; more being turned every week, but this is what is sitting on the bench tonight. There are bowls are turned from Maple, Elm, Cyprus and Madrona. I have a bowl with a fitted lid; essentially a two bowl piece, and even a nested set of three madrona bowls ( more about nested sets later). If you need to see other bowls, contact me. What is up on the site currently is a small portion of what I have finished. I’ll be posting quite a few more bowls soon as I get them finished as well.
The Farmers market runs out here on Vashon Saturdays from 10:00 -2:00 beginning in April 2020. I’ve applied but have yet to hear from them. Hope to be participating in the market every Saturday through the summer. Also looking at craft fairs, weekend craft shows and thinking about Freemont market as well as some galleries in Seattle, LaConner, Bellingham, and Minnesota.
As always, I appreciate your comments and insights.
All Good Wishes
Happy New Year; Year of the Rat

I hope this will be a successful endeavor for you Ric. Your work is beautiful. I cherish the glass bowls that I I have that dad made. I will have to add a wood one crafted by my favorite brother.
