This is the first day of the new website and new cottage business. I have been woodcarving and wood turning for a few years and have a few tons of wood sitting on the property. Turning wood is a creative process for me, meditative, and just a lot of fun. It teaches, as well. I have spent hours on a new piece only to cut through the bottom of the bowl, trying to get it just a little thinner before its done. some woodturners call that lampshading the bowl. That frustration after its repeated a few times as I have done while trying to improve my skills, is now met still with frustration but also acceptance. Learning to let go. I still much prefer creating a bowl I can share , rather than one that will be used to help heat the house in the woodstove. The bowls on this site and the ones I’ll sell in the farmers markets are, thus far, all from wood harvested or given to me here on Vashon Island in Washington. I hope you enjoy them and look forward to hearing from you.
All Good Wishes
